  • Okay, but this isn’t all that surprising, to me at least, considering there are really only a couple other actually viable¹ options ( linux things like ubuntu touch not included since only a single phone brand uses it as an option ).

¹ viable as in has major corporate support and isn’t something you usually are the one installing by hand

    Edit:

Nothing against projects like ubuntu touch, but I kinda meant viable as in easy enough that if you replaced an older person android for it, they wouldn’t struggle any more than they currently do. Also, that other companies see as viable and worthy enough for them to spend the resources on trying to support, hardware wise.

  • I have yet to have many issues with it, so far. So many people say you don’t need an antivirus on linux, but I am of the belief that you should have it regardless. Better safe to have a scanner just in case, especially if you download anything off the internet. Doesn’t matter if it’s from a supposedly safe source, it’s better IMO to just scan it just in case.

  • Speaking of banks, my parents had problems with their old bank about 3 or so years ago that someone/somepeople/whatever were constantly getting access to my mother’s bank card. They ( parents/bank ) would just keep replacing her card over and over after the last would get deactivated.

Took a long while for them to decide to finally switch to end that bull, after finally taking advice to switch. Suddenly the card compromises ended basically immediately, which is how I know her phone wasn’t completely compromised.

It was frustrating because every time it was a thing of card got compromised, deactivated, and new card sent. Only to be given advice that fell on deaf ears because they’ve been with that bank they were with for a long time… as though they didn’t switch away from another bank they banked with for basically my whole childhood for similar reasons to the problem card bank.

  • Good to know. Guess I never thought to read the speed thing about bridge converters and junctions. If I get back to either of the main campaigns any time soon, I’ll try to keep this in mind. I also like seeing how much is passing through, mostly because I will change a conveyor layout and end up having resources go places they ain’t supposed to because of nearby routers or bridge ends, so seeing what’s what is my only hope.
