Perhaps a simple trip/stumble while holding a handful of sharp metal objects that happen to make contact as you reach out to prevent a full fall, clumsy me…

Unwatched on iPhone is pretty good, give it a look if you want a native app that isn’t the official one. Although I also vouch for Wipr2 as well. Stumbled on both as recommendations on here over the past 6 or so months.

2·8 个月前£10 more for no cap by the looks of it, & I have been recommended a&a by a mate before, but I’ve used Zen at multiple addresses in the past & they have always been fantastic both in service & their support (but it’s been a couple of years now, hopefully they are still as good).

3DPrinting@lemmy.world•using a binder clip as a spring instead of 3d printing oneEnglish
6·8 个月前Thanks to both of you & OP, I wasn’t going to watch but these comments got me to click, & some of those subtle transitions were nicely done! The first one I noticed with the plastic coil spring in his hand zooming in was my fav.
The mixed 3D printing concept was nicely done. Sounded like it has a satisfying solid click as you close it. I can’t think of a reason I’d need this currently, but it’s making me want to try it out just for the sake of it!

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a rule that you follow that has improved your personal life?
1·10 个月前These are some really solid rules to live by. I think I already do a couple of them in a round about way. But it’s nice seeing them listed out so clearly, & additional ones I should consider using.
I hope on your down days you can remind yourself there are others that value you in some way, even if it’s an Internet stranger appreciating a post like this. Thanks!!

1·10 个月前Does it not get in the way or wake you up when you sleep?
I’ve gone the opposite way the past year or so, after finally adding a card to my mobile, which I was reluctant to do for years, I barely need to take my wallet out with me these days! It’s amazing having a whole free pocket that for most of my life had a chunky wallet in.

3·10 个月前Mines similar, at least 20 mins walk (or slow jog/cycle if I’m feeling energetic) per day every day, but usually end up doing 45mins+ which is about 2.5-3miles. Managed to keep that up for 2 years straight now, even when ill (just about).
I have M.E/CFS & it took a good 5+ years to build up to that, symptoms are thankfully fairly mild these days, I think partly because of the daily activity, however slow I feel I need to go.
Plus also now make sure I hit 10k plus steps daily this year which has helped keep me motivated to go further on days I might have kept it to only 20 mins.
As well as helping keep a baseline of fitness it’s done wonders for my general mood & mental health overall, seem to be far more stable across the board, & I feel being out even briefly is a big part of that.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Just opened a new jar of jam, only to find mold in it.English
5·10 个月前I grew up with home made jam from my Nan when she was still here, & then my mum. Mould on the top of a jar of jam that had already been open a while was fairly common back then. You’d just scoop it off & go about your day.
However this is shop bought jam, & as long as it was recently purchased, or even if it was sealed & within date but not recently purchased I’d still complain to the shop or manufacturer, as I’d expect better from commercially made produce.

14·1 年前Thanks for encouraging to read the whole thing. That is a loooong article! But a great informative read. Took me a couple of sittings to read it all properly, well worth it!
I had no idea about so many of the challenges they’ve gone through & seemingly managed to fight back so many attempts to control & mask the content on more volatile subjects. Always had a lot of respect for the editors, but even more so now.
I do donate a small amount to them once or twice a year. I think I will try to increase my donations going forward knowing it might help with some of their legal fights.

20·1 年前Really good technical write up, thanks for posting.
In any sane world any company using these sorts of abusive practices, especially at this sort of scale, would be banned from the mobile app stores & fined to oblivion.
Alas, I fear a small fine is the best that may happen via user initiated lawsuits, which ends up as just another cost of doing business for orgs of that size.

Arduino is a fantastic platform for learning, I still remember a lot of my ‘firsts’ with it, I had no idea what I was doing, we all start somewhere. Have fun!
