I was not expecting them to respond but I was not expecting my response to be deleted immediately. I was hoping for my response to be available for others to see so they could make an informed decision.

Yeah it’s frustrating because madthumbs (and you too) seem to know what they’re talking about to someone like me who is not an expert, but if madthumbs is not going to allow good-faith discussion, newbies who might consider Linux will only get one side of the story.

Linux is not perfect but the contributors are always trying to make it better and that perspective will always be missing from [email protected].

I propose a new community called [email protected] that just copy/pastes the posts from [email protected] and allows free discussion.

Agree with you 100%. After posting I read the sidebar and the rules make it very clear that it’s their fiefdom to run as they please and they don’t tolerate good-faith discussion. Such is the freedom of the fediverse. I don’t agree with their way of doing things but I respect that they are free to do so.

Semi-related: I wonder if it would be worthwhile to create a list of communities that most newbies to the fediverse should block from the get-go. Like a sort of a “there be dragons” list of places that most reasonable people would probably want to avoid.

Typically the type of rider who rides without a helmet has some sort of other protection from the wind in the form of a windscreen or fairings on the motorcycle to deflect wind away from their face. It’s mostly a comfort thing though because it’s not impossible to ride without a helmet even without wind protection especially if you’re just cruising around town at lower speeds.

Even people who do wear helmets appreciate these features on their motorcycles because having the wind blasting against your helmet can be very loud and tire out your neck muscles.

I did the same thing at a rest area in New Jersey decked out head to toe in motorcycle gear. It happens.

For me it’s always the trash can lid hat.

This is me in Stardew Valley and Baldur’s Gate 3.

The last time someone made a similar complaint about reaction videos, I responded with a comment similar to yours regarding El Estepario Siberiano reacting to a Danny Carey performance and someone else responded to me explaining that an analysis video is much different than a reaction video and I tend to agree. I appreciate analysis videos where the person provides insight and context to what they’re showing me that I might not understand on my own.

I feel this too. I always default to vanilla WoW, BG3, or Stardew Valley even though I have hundreds of hours into them.

Everyone loved Journey but I returned it after just under two hours.

I used an Apple wireless trackpad with Ubuntu many years ago, maybe 10? I had to do some work to get it to recognize gestures but I don’t remember what was involved. It worked great once everything was configured.

It’s possible that support has improved over the years and it might work out of the box though I haven’t tried recently.

I created a new account to post in my regional swinger subreddit and it immediately got deleted by a power hungry mod. He said my post was low effort at the same time as there was a literal dick pic with the text “hit me up” on the subreddit’s front page. I tried to post again with a little more detail but my post never showed up so I messaged the mods directly. They responded a few days later that they had approved my post. Thanks for nothing reddit and reddit mods.

I self-hosted a TBC server for short period and I liked being able to crank up the default run speed and increase the drop rate of purple items.

I wish I could zoom in even closer!
