Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What is your weirdest self-hosting problem you've had to solve? For me: Mouse inside the server.English
3·17 days agolesson learned, apparently 🤣
Unfortunately, afaik there isn’t. But I enabled the share on my account and my family members account, and I can see their pics and they can see mine. I made the share where my account can see all their photos on my timeline and they can see mine. It’s working for me.
I guess I could do it. But would be nice if immich had such a tool.

2·3 months agoI have been enjoying using ZFS, although it’s a not a killer filesystem for every scenario, I think it would be the best solution for you. also, you can try the “free consulting” on the 2.5 Admins podcast ([email protected]). Jim and Allen are ZFS lovely weirdos, but they can explain better why would be ZFS a better solution for your case. Give it a try. I have done it before and really helped me.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Do you stick to the same linux distro across your devices?English
1·6 months agoUsually I keep everything on Debian, but I’ve been thinking in making some changes, like running mint on my kids laptops. My rock64 is running armbian, due some problems with latest Debian on it and DietPi on an rpi3. Oh yeah, an rpi4 is running has, due to my absolutely laziness 😂
Yeap, the price of security and stability is not having the latest bling. I’m fine with that.

3·7 months ago@[email protected] and @[email protected] I used a setting on immich called “partner sharing” or something like it (my immich instance is on ptBR). If I’m not mistaken, it was on my account settings. There I can mark an option to my partners photos be shown on my timeline. There’s something That I have to do on looged on their accounts as well, but I can’t quite remeber it now.
Edit: Just update my instance now and everything is apparently running fine.

91·7 months agoGonna wait to update my podman instance. I’d like immich to have a better mamagement in a multiuser enviroment. I have my wife and kids phones sending photos to it, but I’d like to edit or exclude images from their accounts from mine.
