What i think is a shame is that the concept behind Bitcoin (a decentralized currency) is actually really cool. But as always capitalism happened and basically turned it into a speculative stock market, ruining it.
When you allow people to buy things freely - in this case a limited resource - this was inevitable. Nothing to do with capitalism, i.e. private ownership of means of production. It would have happened under any system in which people can spend their money on whatever they want.

I was buying drugs with it before it got wrecked. It would be nice to have a stable coin that isn’t tethered to another currency.
