If you wanna have fun, i woild recommend bedrock linux, haven’t tried it, but it sounds cool and interesting. Also nixos might be fun to try in my opinion.

Linux@lemmy.ml•What do you think of tools for setting colorschemes in many apps at once, like pywal and base16?
1·9 months agoI love pywal, i also love tuis because i need only to change terminal’s colors. If i want catpuccin then i can just download catpuccin wallpaper. I use pywal on every tui and librewolf. Don’t need to change antthing else. I love when i download new tui and it is already themed

Linux@lemmy.ml•What distro do you install on other's computers?
2·10 months agoPre-configured Artix linux with dinit, plasma, refind, and some gui installer, really fast and i think its reliable enough
You are right. Official Live ISOs have gui installers, I tried it once and in my opinion it lacks some features. I wanted perfect solution for me which also can be solution for someone else. I think my script contain a lot of useful stuff. Ive seen theres way to modify gui installer, but it didnt came to my mind anytime. Writing this script gave me alot of bash knowledge which for suer will be useful. Thanks for reading this :D.
i have almost full environment of tuis that look so beautiful, i wish my script looked like them.
there are some tui programs i use: yazi, youtube-tui,btop, fsel, rmpc, lazygit, td-tui, wiremix
Thanks, its inspired by krum’s void installer script, also very fun project. I think his code is cleaner, theres link: https://github.com/kkrruumm/void-install-script
It’s nice to try booster, its so damn fast. Script will make it work for you :D.
Script is fully interactive, you can choose not to encrypt root partition. You can try it out but don’t press yes on last page because it could start installation, every option is tui is just setting variable.

Linux@lemmy.ml•refind + booster + encryption doesn't work for me
1·1 year agohello after a break i came back to writing this script and its actually works… the problem was that i mount /dev/sda1 to /boot/efi and not /boot, i think it needs to be in the same folder with kernel because now it works and all i have to do is actually nothing…

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How would I repurpose a work laptop?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How would I repurpose a work laptop?
21·1 year agoI would wipe the disk so theres no shady things, depending on what games u play, i would install linux and use encryption if you would take this laptop to public places. Performance on linux will be much smoother. I recommend endeavouros.
EDIT: also reinstall bios/uefi firmware would be nice, probably not but there might be some spying?
I would seperate work and your life. If u have fun just enjoy it, work is work

It might be overwhelming but still fun to explore new things, right?
