I installed cachyOS on my gaming laptop mid last year, and I’ve been really happy with it. Very few issues I couldn’t easily troubleshoot myself.

Not that it’s a relevant comparison, but I installed bazzite on my handheld, and had enough problems with it that I installed cachy instead.

I’ve seen plenty of people happy with either, so I guess it’s mostly personal preference re: arch vs fedora, immutable distros, etc etc

True. There’s probably still a significant reporting bias, but it’s still notable.

To be fair, they are looking at distro numbers on ProtonDB. It’s not surprising that a distro made for and aimed at gamers is going to be popular in that context.

I never got it to work well on my laptop. Tried for ages, because it looks like a cool game that I could sink a LOT of time into, but the frame rates were always terrible.

Yep, this was my must have game for switching over. Blish was a bit of a pain, but I haven’t loaded up windows on my laptop in months now.

Still using windows on my desktop, because I play racing sims, and I gather the hardware is not well supported on Linux yet.

IIRC, the devs re-used code for dwarves blinking, which resulted in cats licking their beer-soaked paws at the same rate as blinking. Even a small amount ingested per lick at that rate led to alcohol poisoning.

Ah, it took me a while to think it through, but I get it now. The table of double digits is square, but because there’s no 0 character included in the 26 letters of the alphabet, the single digit set adds an extra row to the start.

But that’s the reason there are 27 in the first set and 26 in every set after that. If you start from 1, it’s 26 in every set, as you would expect, right?

Maybe there’s something I don’t get here, but the rows are counted in base 10 starting from 1. Why would you start numbering columns from 0?
