This is beyond stupid on so many levels. Who is this guy, and why are we sharing his dumbass take on wildfires and air quality alerts?

If Google wants to stick with its AI push, I can’t imagine they would want to keep training 2 different models; especially if one of them could land them in more hot water down the road. While it would eventually apply to the EU, I can imagine the rollout would be global. Similar to how Apple was forced by the EU to ditch their proprietary connector for USB-C: instead of having an EU & North American model; they just adapted USB-C across all their devices

Another 8 seconds and the clock would have been at 1:09, which would have made it 69 seconds left

Okay, hold on. I’ve got a better idea…

I’m very surprised that Andy’s claim to the MeshCore trademark is at all valid, considering the project has existed before he got involved
EDIT: Dug around a bit, and the trademark claim is currently “Pending”

Where do you get your ESP32s from? They’re $10 each on Amazon

And people running and jumping is just a pre-made animation. Not even real people

While I knew cross-access was a thing, I didn’t know about being able to follow news sources through flipboard
I’ll have to give this a try. Thanks!

Thank you for this. I have seen a few *arr combination projects I wanted to look into; so I may have had come across this one.
It’s unfortunate that the “developer” chose to nope out, instead of fixing it or at least seeking help from the community. This is one of the good aspects of OSS - that we can and should audit ourselves. But if it was all vibe coded, maybe they didn’t know that an audit is good and should be welcomed; instead of rejected and shutdown.

0 is an extra long T

Your article points out the main reason why I haven’t gotten into sports; even though I’d like to follow a bit of hockey, F1, and UK soccer. It’s complicated and expensive as fuck. $50/month for a subscription, and it doesn’t even cover all of the games for the same team? I’m interested in putting something on, once in a while; but it’s not worth $50 to maybe use it once a month or two
Thank you though for putting together these highly detailed instructions that are only for educational purposes!

So tthhaattss why they’ve added Google / Facebook tracking… https://lemdro.id/post/35102061

Unfortunately I don’t recall the exact reason why I chose Unraid over Proxmox. It might have been better GPU passthrough support at the time, or better Docker container support?

I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with an unhinged lunatic, and I’m frustrated on your behalf that the police won’t do anything. Ironically, you could call the police, threaten to kill their family, and you’ll be picked up for free and taken to a safe place the lunatic can’t get at you
I’d start by identifying what he actually knows. He’s proven he has obtained your names, phone numbers, and probably that you live in Nebraska; which is scary enough, but not enough to find you and cause harm.
Search for your names and phone numbers using multiple search engines. I would look for addresses, or places of work. If he can find out where you work, it makes it much easier for an adversary to find you. An easy place to check is LinkedIn. If there is a connection with your names and where you work, I’d speak with someone at work. Tell them you have a stalker and:
Next time he calls, you can ask him for your address. He’s been pretty up front about the knowledge he has so far, so check his homework and see how far he’s gotten. That will give you an idea if he can actually attack now, or attack later. If he doesn’t know your address / where you work, it doesn’t mean he can’t find out later. I’d also suggest to not lead with (do you know where I work?) as it will give him an idea; but maybe ask him how he plans on killing you? Gruesome, but it’ll let him blab. Maybe ask a friend to do this so you’re not up all night thinking about it.
On the protection side: Unfortunately if the police isn’t willing to help, you’ll have to take matters into your own hands. Idk what the firearm laws are like in Nebraska, but you might want to look into it for self defence. I cant answer legal questions, but I’m more than happy to talk about firearms
Do some of your own counter-intelligence yourself. Look up the guys name, email, phone number; whatever you can get (I wasn’t able to look at the Facebook profile). Build a profile against him. Might help next time you contact the police. Also, write it down somewhere and take screenshots. If he knows you’re onto him, he could delete his accounts.
Finally, speak with a lawyer. They may be able to offer additional advice and bully the courts / police into getting off their asses and helping you more
I’m sorry I can’t do more to help but offer advice and answer questions
Good luck

I’ll preface my comment with I understand my setup is no where similar to yours, but I’ll share my setup to hopefully give you an idea as to what you can do.
My desktop is running Unraid, and I’ve set it up with GPU pass through. This lets me spin up a machine with its own virtual drive with the OS installed. My other main folders (Documents, pictures, etc…) connect via network folders.
Pro: Can try out a bunch of OSs easily, and I don’t really care if I nuke my OS drive.
Con: The GPU passthrough can be very finicky. Admittedly, It was a struggle to get everything setup initially; but I think Unraid is working on streamlining that process.
I’d also recommend looking into setting it up in Proxmox first if you want to try this route. Proxmox is free, and Unraid is paid; so if you just want to play around with the idea, try the free version first.
Hope this helps!

I think we need a term to differentiate between DLCs that are proper Expansion Packs (EPs) of the game, from DLCs that are paywalling parts of clearly the rest of the original game. I’m not OK with companies chopping up their game to sell it as DLC, but I’m perfectly OK with EPs
Like a lot of other people are saying: Go to the funeral
A funeral happens once for someone, and that’s it. There’s no other opportunity to attend. So weighing missing a single opportunity to respect your father (and it sounds like you care for him) and provide closure for yourself, versus petty squabbles from other family members doesn’t make sense to me. I’ve been to funerals with family members I’ve disliked, and I just ignored them and stood away from them during the service; so I’m wondering why you wouldn’t be able to do the same? I feel like there might be something more going on. Either between you and the problematic family members; or your own mental wellbeing.
Please consider that if you miss it, you may regret it. Especially considering that the reason for missing it would be a deliberate choice, and it’s over gossip. As you get older, you may find that you will care very little about gossip; especially if it’s from people you dislike. So you may come to realize in the future that you missed your father’s funeral over effectively nothing
I’ve always been taught that attending someone’s funeral is one of the greatest good deeds you can do for someone. They’re no longer here, so they can’t pay you back; and sometimes it’s really difficult to attend both by having to stop everything you’re doing to make it, and emotionally. So there’s always been an emphasis on attending funerals in my life
