There are many states (the majority actually) where the AoC is lower than 18 just make sure she’s in one of them or you could risk being in serious trouble if you ever visited her, even after she’s become a legal adult.

That last part isn’t necessarily true. It’s often seen as a blanket statement that the age of consent in the US is 18 but that’s not true for many states.
