I 100% thought Link’s name was Zelda and thought I was the only one. I may or may not have learned otherwise until the N64 Super Smash Bros (not sure if that’s the first one or not).
And then I learned about Zelda’s bad ass form called Sheikh (sp?). And then wondered why the hell Link was doing what he was doing in Link to the Past. Never learned about that storyline.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Y'all ever have intrusive thoughts about accidentally dropping stuff in storm drains? (particulary when you have your phone out) And like if that happens, wtf is someone supposed to do?
3·4 months agoYep. Nowadays it’s mostly storm drains but it’s happened with pool drains and jumping off high places. I hold my keys tightly when going to check the mailbox. 🫠

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do some people with college degrees and an education, still act so fucking stupid?
13·5 months agoEducation has no bearing on intellect. Or appropriate life experience.
Also, when people say someone is stupid, crazy, etc, it’s because they don’t understand that person’s perspective.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do narcissists have such fragile egos?
141·1 year agoThey are deeply insecure, ashamed, alone, anxious, and afraid. They CANNOT be faced with others confirming their worst fear: that something is deeply and terribly wrong with them. They’re basically emotionally disabled and can’t empathize, work together as a team, or be genuine. They completely lack accountability ir responsibility. In close relationships, they suck the life out of people the most because it makes them feel better about themselves and they choose this tactic in these relationships because that person is least likely to leave them.
As a therapist, I’ve seen one, maybe two clinical narcissists. The one I remember best only came to therapy to get recognition for doing so but had NO insight into the nature of his issues.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If you have cut off mainstream music streaming, how do you discover new music or artists and songs like what you're listening frequently?
12·1 year agoGraphical way of searching by a given artist and the results are shown based on who is most similar (closer to center) and who is least similar (farthest from center). Love searching this way.
I’ve also used YouTube to search for a familar artist and then I’ll go through the suggestions to see if I find anything interesting.
You probably can’t. This is a boundary for him and a better approach to this might be to get a better understanding of where he’s coming from (if needed) and respect that boundary.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do I get over fear of cooking?
21·2 years agoIt sounds like you may have obsessive compulsive disorder. I would encourage you to seek out a therapist who utilizes exposure and response prevention (ERP) as a treatment.
SAME. Everything prints faster and worked well from day one.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If a person from 1700 asked you your job, would they understand your answer, and if not, how would you explain it to them?
2·2 years agoDidn’t think about that! Will edit my reply.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If a person from 1700 asked you your job, would they understand your answer, and if not, how would you explain it to them?
6·2 years agoYes, my job has a fairly simple explanation. People who feel bad for whatever reason sit on my couch and I help them feel better.
Edit: I’m a therapist.
