Looks like it, first gog announced their link Linux launcher. Then heroic has started the work to get game pass to Linux and now this. Year of the Linux!

So far it looks like it’s only one month on the chart with 10% for Linux, it could be a fluke. We’ll find out if it remains around 10% in the coming months.

It sounded on him like it is a bidding over who will lose the electricity last. But the priority was decided a long time ago, when it was fewer billionaires and they didn’t had that many billions. For now, it not normal people vs billionaires.

I don’t know how it is in US but in Sweden there is a priority list when there is a risk of blackout. Hospitals is one of the highest priorities, if not the highest. Regular families is one of the lowest, it is expected that everyone should be prepared for losing power for a couple of hours. However, some big companies that uses lots of power have a deal with the grid owner that they can be disconnected/reduced power first when there is a risk of blackouts.

I prefer to buy films with subtitles in my native language and many 4k films are only imported and it can be difficult to find older films. New and large releases that are shown on cinema is easy to find.

I have similar thoughts on buying media and not use pirating. Where do you stand on pirating films that you see on TV? In the past it was possible to record it and keep it, but today it is often not possible. My personal ethic allows me to pirate a film that I see on a TV channel. I’m more sceptical to pirate 4k or 1080p films for films that I own on dvd, any thoughts on that?

Films are still physical in my home. PC games are only digital, preferably bought at gog so I can download and store them. Music is also digital since I don’t have any cd player. But I will continue to my films as blu ray discs as long as my blu ray player works and the films are released. Well, there needs to be stores that sell the films as well, that looks like the first thing to fall.

I think the article had a couple of good examples of how to use an AI.

Ask for hints, not answers: People who ask AI to directly answer their questions suffer severe declines in motivation and ability. But people who ask AI for background thinking or clarifications do not.

Start with a blank page: Before you go to the bot, start with a blank piece of paper and write up your own analysis and conclusions. Then ask AI to challenge your thinking, not produce it.

Ask for thinkers, not thinking: My favorite trick when using Claude is to never ask it to think through a problem for me. I ask it to summarize the thinkers who have already addressed a given problem. If I’m trying to understand child development, I ask it to imagine a debate between Jean Piaget and Erik Erikson. What would these two great psychologists say to each other about the problem I’m wrestling with? Then I ask it what books by these thinkers I should read if I want to understand their work. I get much better results from AI when I treat it as a brilliant librarian rather than as an oracle.

My only loyalty is to brands that have higher quality than the competitors. And that only last as long as they are maintaining their quality or another brand is increasing their quality.

And the better the Steam ecosystem works on Linux, SteamOS and other distros, the bugger chance that gamers are moving to Linux and that developers are adding support for Linux. Which makes Steam less dependent on Microsoft/Windows.

+1, my parents are using Mint and they are only browsing the web. They have not complained anything after almost a year. In my case, I didn’t dare to set up automatic updates so I’m updating the computer when I visit them.

I have much more than 20 packages in aur, most of them are dependencies from steam-native-runtime. Since steam is popular, I can understand that many have more than 20 packages.

Now when I was reading the ArchWiki I saw that it is mentioned as an alternative, so I assume I can remove steam-native-runtime and all dependencies. Perhaps the instructions have been updated or I googled for instructions and found another page. But there could be other popular packages with many dependencies.

The company I work for had a pilot project for a while but recently they opened up for all users to order Github Copilot. Of course it is Github Copilot since everything else at the company is from Microsoft.

On step 4, it is possible to go to home/.steam/steam/steamapps/compactdata/ and run this command in the terminal

ls --recursive | grep Rockstar

And it will output something like

Rockstar Games./3613745575/pfx/drive_c/ProgramData/Rockstar Games: ./3613745575/pfx/drive_c/ProgramData/Rockstar Games/Launcher: Rockstar Games

Which means that the correct folder is 3613745575.

It worked for me with Proton 11.0 (Beta), I can log in and play games. First it didn’t work but the launcher started after I restarted my computer. I updated the system and one of the updated programs was Wine, don’t know if that is connected somehow. I also tried to install Rockstar Games Launcher on Heroic and Lutris but I couldn’t get it to work. I have Nvidia if it matters.
