Customer’s aren’t buying parts for preventative maintenance, they only purchase when it’s an emergency and they are losing tens of thousands of dollars an hour in production. Figures, make it difficult and expensive for consumers to get routers. Make it so people must pay 5 times as much for a lower quality “US made” router in 4-5 years once the factories are built; or people just stop using the internet at home like the administration wants.

The US does not make many electronics, and when we do, they are ALWAYS made with imported components. So this is once again a threat to companies to move production to the US, but with ZERO incentive for the companies to do so.

I don’t have this issue with my higher end hi sense, but the article states it’s for the lower end models. So this proves that companies are lowering the costs of TV’s and offsetting it by selling your data and forcing you to watch ads they get paid for.

I’ve been telling people to stop supporting amazon for years, but everyone seems to have their reason to keep supporting them. This hopefully will be a good enough reason for people to finally stop shopping on amazon.

After 0.5.20 ruined my entire library, i’m very reluctant to upgrade to 0.5.21 until others have verified it actually works.

Luckily i was able to get it working in lutris, but now i’m curious to get it working in Heroic. Thanks for the tips, i’ll try it out. If we can figure this stuff out now, we can help others who are bound to run into the same problem. I just wish you could find lemmy posts on search engines like reddit posts, but they are all hidden it seems.

I did notice that one of the games i loaded took about 30 seconds to load when i first tried to launch it. I tried it again later that evening and it launched much faster. Think Lutris has to maybe reconfigure somethings now since they updated the main runners that is uses.

I came across this issue many times today while researching my issue. Seems both apps had a major update in the last week and screwed up a lot of our games. But i do appreciate them working on this open source software, just sucks when it breaks like this.

I tried to use Heroic, but my copy of SimCity isn’t a GOG game, so it wouldn’t launch correctly. Heoric seems to have a much easier GUI though for installing games compared to Lutris, so no wonder so many people are switching over.

Alright after about 2 hours of reinstalling and trying different options i finally got Sim city 4 and 3000 unlimited to work. But i lost all my save data, so thanks Lutris for completely changing all the wine settings and making proton take over everything.

98% of my games are 32 bit, so the new version didn’t like them. I had to manually change everything and try several different runners to get these to actually work. Some are on System 11, some are on wine ge-8-26-x86_64, and some are on GE-Proton to get them to launch again, But i finally have all 19 games working again. What a pain.

I turned off automatic updates on lutris as a result.
