You’re mistaking the bubble for the technology itself. AI can be and is used to good things, but the bubble is about the bad stuff. The whole idea of a bubble like this is that we over inflated something too quickly and too much to a point where it isn’t a good stable growth and the only way to stop that is for the bubble to burst. In modern-ish society there just won’t be a letting out of “air” to stabilise the bubble, there won’t even be a slowing of filling it until it bursts. When everything is about infinite growth and something new comes along we’ll always jump on that pump and fill the bubble as rapidly as we can and completely ignore any long term plan and consequences, because money and power.

So many issues with the world boils down to that last part, people refusing to change and learn. I never understood it, I’ve always loved change and learning. I’ve seen so many people go from having that same openness to only caring about keeping everything the same and never learning, it’s really disturbing. This is the song of the world, a ton of angry voices but then the vast majority of them still buy (in both meanings) the thing. People want to be mad but never inconvenienced. They’ll spend so many hours being angry both internally and externally but then still use their vote, be it a political or wallet one, for that specific thing they’re angry about. “I’m mad this costs so much, that it’s so bad, that it doesn’t align with my views but there’s no way in hell I’ll miss out on it”.

They also drop the FPS to half of what it was before, which the upcoming PS6 Pro is said to handle better (it’ll not actually handle it much better). With the upcoming Pro console they have removed the 2tb version of the PS6, and it has no expandable storage so you can’t even play any games on the PS6 if you buy it from this point forwards.

And sadly, as we’re constantly reminded of, people that have money to spend aren’t intelligent in general. It’s narcissim, sociopathy and hoarding mentality that is behind most people who have money, and those same things is what would make someone want to use tech like this.

While I agree for the most part, pricing is absolutely an issue too (an ever increasing one). I and so many others in a similar situation have a lot of time but not a lot of money, it doesn’t matter if a game has 2000+ hours of playtime, we just can’t afford $70+ as a once time purchase.
