Not much to say
I’m a developer since 20 years and been trying out vibing godot and I expected it to have troubles with Godot but at least getting basic programming paradigms right but it has been more the other way around. I’m constantly policing it for hardcoding or creating unmaintainable messes where the base classes have exceptions for each child instead of them owning their own logic.
Often a series wrap up good in a season and I feel done with it. Like last of us and fallout, I just know season 2 will be worse. Then other times season 1 just sucks and I’m not interested in another for that reason.
I’ve been vibing a bit in my spare time, and in the beginning I didn’t look too much at the cost because I was more interested in quickly reaching some sort of mvp state but then I had to manually troubleshoot a thing and wow it was so full of hardcoded bullshit, which was so insanely far from how I was im envisioning it.
I had to backtrack a lot and then started doing like you and tell it what I wanted the code to look like.
I’m worried because I heard that some product owners and marketing people have started to vibe products while I’m on paternity leave, and I’m pretty sure they’re not going to maintain them.
If a trusted senior would be at the wheels there would at least be a chance that the end code was readable but this…
I’m making a game and I just ai for parts of the code and and for assets currently. I make it because I’m 43 and been programming my entire life and yet never took the time to make a game.
If I ever were to release it on any store, I’d replace the assets with human made and declare that I’ve had LLM assistance in coding, no matter if there’s a role about it or not.
Basically I know it’s important to some people and I don’t want them to accidentally spend money on something they hate. It would be like sneaking meat into a vegetarian dish.
Twenty-five years ago I drove taxi for a few years and during training they were very clear that relying on gps prohibits you from learning. Taxi people knew that.
For the last fifteen years I’ve been a software engineer and in this field, the ability to pick up and maintain knowledge are cornerstones of the job. Having someone do your tasks for you will degrade your abilities to get said tasks done. CS people knows that.
Management however thinks that we will not need those skills in the future.

While I agree, there are plenty of chill subreddits that are full of interaction and the counterparts here aren’t very active. I know that it’s up to us to start creating the posts but I’m more of a lurker and replier.
This has been the case since way before the LLM boom but it has definitely moved into a higher gear.
I had a pair of boots that I used 9 months a year in Swedish climate for roughly 10 years without a hitch. They also went for hikes in Costa Rica and across India and Nepal. At the end they looked worn but were still functional as I swapped them out for another pair of vegan leather boots.
I’ve had other vegan shoes that lasted a lot shorter but that can be said about my animal skin shoes as well.
Modern bio-leather causes about 10% off the emissions leather does and doesn’t have the same tanning process which is extremely toxic.
Not saying that vegan is strictly better, but rumours of it’s crappiness are severely out of date.

After a quick look at the repo it looks like something I could contribute to if I find the time (currently on parental leave so only have few windows where I can).
I haven’t worked with ionic per se but I’ve been reacting and webbing since the dark ages.
I use blorp. It works well and seems to have active devs.

Thing is lockdown and integrity checks are much stricter these days, and you can’t rely on these things to continue working either.
I’d have a backup phone to deal with id and banking.
I have a ZenFone 8 with stock. I love the form factor but I’m mildly annoyed that I can’t uninstall certain apps and the QA is poor, never have I been forced to repair a phone this much.
I backup photos via immich, passwords vid bitwarden and run calendar, contacts, notes via nextcloud
We were discussing how nice it was in the good old days to go into a rental shop and just look for movies based on the covers. Sure this design doesn’t really hit that itch but more information is not always better.
It’d be nice to just have a bunch of movies that are just random within their main category. No algorithms or marketing.
