The manager they brought in to bring him in line has been one of the best, kindest, and most human managers I’ve ever met. (But she doesn’t fuck around.)

She’s also an absolute shark at knowing the system, and without going into specifics, has done very well for everyone on my team that has been even modestly competent.

I honestly feel bad for the guy. He was too far in the hole of anger and resentment to realize that he’d been handed a whole new opportunity before he squandered it.
Shortly after I was hired, several other people were hired in to help with the flow of work, and my team went from being sort of an embarrassment to one that, quite frankly, is awesome. (And we still have a good work-life balance.)

In the process of enforcing good boundaries at work, you shouldn’t be a jerk. Firm, no-nonsense, but polite. And the flip side is to use your capacity wisely.

That’s weirdly sort of how I got my job.

Apparently my predecessor was a nice guy with low boundaries that (at the time) lacked managerial support. When he painted himself into a corner on his commitments, didn’t get the accolades or raises he thought he should get, he got bitter, started to act out, stopped doing work he should have done, and finally, when management started pressing him to clean up some messes he had created over a year+ of neglecting his responsibilities, he left an unsigned resignation letter on his desk and didn’t come to work for a few days.
He called to discuss the terms of his return, expecting a raise, and they just told him they accepted his resignation.

My LiveJournal account is 25 years old as of last week. I’m just going to go back to that for social media.

And with them putting old Reddit behind a login, they’re just losing traffic.

A British comedian friend living in the U.S. used to (15-ish years ago) have a joke about asking a guy outside a bar in middle America if he could bum a fag.
He would impersonate the most southern accent he could muster and say “I don’t care. Ain’t no business of mine.” As part of a joke about cultural differences/how the U.S. could be unexpectedly wholesome.

Never asked if that was a true story. We fell out awhile ago.

I have the forgetting kind of ADHD, so I straight up don’t know what I do and don’t have. This could be handy in that regard.
But I also can’t really see myself using this because the debt of keeping it current would be a nightmare.

Twitter collected user phone numbers and email addresses for the stated reason of account verification/security. It then used that data for advertising.

It’s currently banned from profiting from deceptively collected data, is required to allow users to utilize MFA not tied to their phone number, must assess the privacy and security risks of new products, must disclose data breaches to the FCC, and limit employee access to user private information.

Not that a Republican FCC would enforce the rules, but this would make it official that Twitter can do all those things. Expect Musk to be sliming into the DM’s of everyone.

I just bought a Mac mini for $50 from a local university’s surplus store. I plan to use it as spare hdd space for another device (it came with a 1tb drive), but even being older, it’s still very capable.
Perhaps a similar device could work for you?

I find your comment infuriating and I don’t exactly know why. It feels like you’ve tried to explain things for a less intelligent audience. If someone said that to me, I would struggle to fix my face.

You don’t have to use your first sentence to say that designers design designs, and you don’t have to spend two sentences (“The reasons […] but some are.”) to make a qualifier.

You could just say “Those fucks probably did it on purpose because there’s no law preventing them from it, and they will keep doing it, too”

I’ve seen wrinkling like that occur on taller parts with lower infill when the outer shell traps warm/hot air, which distorts the top of the shell as it tries to escape.
If that’s at play here (it doesn’t feel exactly right, though), then as others have suggested, perhaps it’s a cooling fan speed setting?
Any chance your bed is too hot, or some settings like first layer temp/final layer temp are causing unexpected issues? That’s a giant skirt for a large, flat piece. Is the thing tacoing on you?

My other thought on this could be uneven drying of your filament. Perhaps one side is drying to 10%, and the other side is not. Any way to rotate the filament as it’s drying?
How long are you drying for?
