31·5 days agoI’m in a community making open source firmware for the Centauri Carbon 3d printer. The thing has 128MB of of RAM. The smarter people in the community worked some magic getting Klipper working on these things, and we’re still fighting to shave off a couple more MB in average use to get things working smoother.

251·11 days agoWash your ass crack well and often. If it’s smelling, you aren’t cleaning it often enough. If it’s leaking, see a doctor.
Don’t know why you’d think a clothes washer wouldn’t do the job it’s intended to do. If your clothes are coming out of the wash dirty, that’s a different problem.

36·19 days agoNope, different drama this time. People are learning how FOSS licenses work in real-time and there’s hurt feelings around it. Not unwarranted, but overblown IMO

Technology@lemmy.world•YouTuber Hank Green Is Facing a Fan Revolt Over His AI UseEnglish
28·30 days agoYou’re right that most influencers aren’t worth knowing any further, but Hank is one of the exceptions. I wouldn’t even call him an influencer honestly, that’s way WAY too generic of a term for what he’s done. His excitement for knowledge and learning, and spreading the things he learns, has helped a generation with thinking skills and getting them interested in the sciences.

8·1 month agoOn the software side there’s plenty of linux alternatives to the windows only stuff. Not at my computer to check program names, but my 12 side button mouse is just as usable as it was back on windows.

What helped my spouse was dialators. We went to an adult store for ours so we could talk with a clerk about what we got, but Amazon and a million other places have them as well. Kits come with various sizes, and you’ll start small and work your way up. That and weed for relaxation.

6·2 months agoOkay, but that doesn’t answer the question. You’re claiming 1200dpi is very low, but aren’t backing that up.

Technology@lemmy.world•The open-source, DRM-free Open Printer shows off a working prototypeEnglish
18·2 months agoThat doesn’t sound right, so I pulled up the specs of my Canon Pixma. It’s also 1200dpi, so this matches up with my regular consumer printer.
What printers are you using where 1200dpi is low?
Edit: Pulled up an Epson EcoTank and even that’s at 1440dpi

Technology@lemmy.world•TIDAL to automatically tag AI-generated music… and block it from earning royaltiesEnglish
3·2 months ago
Can’t even read their post, and I’m not disabling my network adblock for it.
By “automatically” tagging music, are they using their own AI to tell if something is AI? Surely there won’t be any problems with the hallucination machine checking to see if something was hallucinated, and actual indie artists won’t be constantly flagged and their revenue stolen. /s
