It’d change a lot about class conflict, perhaps even end the need for it.
Also i don’t see why you’re hesitating, they’re already replacing jobs since the industrial revolution, my grandfather has been using a mowing robot for years now, my parents use one to clean the floor and their swimming pool, as well as to monitor their house. It won’t take many years before getting one to clean the windows as well.Service robots for consumer use have experienced a solid growth rate of 11% with close to 20 million units sold in 2024 (source)
Amazon has deployed its one millionth robot last year, they move shelves, sort parcels, bring products to humans, operate forklifts, …
You probably already heard about China’s “dark factories”, which don’t even need any human assistance or supervision.Robots are already replacing taxi&truck drivers. In agriculture as well they’re beginning to drive tractors, are already milking cows, and are more&more distributing animal feed, cleaning some livestock buildings, spraying crops, destroying weeds(, with lasers), …
They’re also involved in mining, digging trenches autonomously, etc. It’s in China that the world’s first fully unmanned paving construction was built two years ago, an highway of more than 150km !
There are also automative toll booth, welding robots, …If you were more specifically thinking of these multi-tasking androids depicted by sci-fi authors, that could just as well drive a car, mine, build a structure, or wash your dishes, then my opinion is that their humanoid precursors will be as numerous before 2035 as the current number of robotaxis, and be more widespread in 2050, including in homes.
On humanoid androids :
the Figure 02 robot supported the production of more than 30,000 BMW X3 vehicles over ten months (source from 2026)
Or here :
Digit, our general-purpose humanoid, has moved over 100,000 totes at GXO’s Flowery Branch facility (source from 2025)
Who knows 🤷

World News@lemmy.ml•March 22 Elections and Lessons from Bolivia: Only Lawfare Prevents the Return of Indigenous Democracy
4·5 个月前Yeah, watch as we(sterners) stay silent about the new bolivian dictatorship under Rodrigo Paz, as he governs through decrees and makes ineligible 80% of the candidates(, 26.000 out of 34.000, with almost no substitution), something unseen under the MAS, who didn’t even need a second turn to win the 2020 elections, and would have won in 2025 as well without a suspicious(, fearful of the US ?,) betrayal of Luis Arce. Their victory in these subnational elections was assured, especially following the recent mass protests against Rodrigo Paz.
This article doesn’t mention the mass invalidation and its causes, nor that they put Luis Arce in jail and are trying to do the same for Evo Morales. That’s what happens once you allow the rent-seekers to take power(, Étienne Chouard has a better solution to be safeguarded from abuses of power), and what will happen to Venezuela as well(, at least Venezuela’s constitution has the art.72 along with its participatory democracy, even if it didn’t protect them from sanctions), with a complicit silence of the capitalist-owned press, who’d have immediately denounced it if Evo Morales ever did something similar, and there will obviously not be any sanction, bombing, or western-backed coup in order to restore democracy and liberty.
And it’s not only in Bolivia.
So, what’s their alternative then, armed struggle ? They should just give up on their lives and sacrifice it in order to attempt taking back control ?
Rodrigo “Paz” banned their medias, and now they can’t even participate in a biased election, let us applaud.
It’s still a defeat compared to the past, but i feared worse(, even if the MAS is indeed destroyed) https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elecciones_subnacionales_de_Bolivia_de_2026
I unfortunately expect more manipulations from him in regard to his first 6 months, in order to avoid a defeat in 2030. There should be the possibility of a citizen-initiated recall referendum in every country, and no-one should ever govern through decrees…
And i maintain that if he was honest then he should have been more lenient by only invalidating at most 10% of the worst candidacies, as a progressive warning for the future, the lack of information never posed a problem in the past(, e.g. instead of banning Andrónico Rodríguez and other deputies from participating because they were in La Paz they could have had the same exception as usual).

World News@lemmy.ml•Ecuador's dictator Daniel Noboa just banned the main opposition(, Rafael Correa's party,) from participating in the next local elections
3·29 天前Well, Călin Georgescu was forbidden from participating in the 2025 elections despite winning the first round, and Nicușor Dan ended up being the romanian president.
Moldova successively banned the Șor Party in June 2023, the Chance Party in November 2023, the Victory Bloc in 2024, and the Heart of Moldova in September 2025, but as for Ecuador you’ll never hear about that !
« the pro-Russian Patriotic Electoral Bloc has 26.6%. The Russia-friendly Alternativa Bloc stood at 8.6% and the populist Our Party — which wants “balanced foreign policy” between East and West — has 6.3% », they also banned 18 Russian-language television channels and over 60 internet resources, and restricted access to opposition politicians’ channels on social media and internet platforms, while pro-western media operate in Moldova without restrictions to manipulate the votes.Hungary is under sanctions. His opponent can do everything it wants now that he won(, he also modified the constitution to force the president into quitting three years earlier). I learned about Poland from Zbigniew Ziobro, who faces 26 charges over the alleged misuse of the Justice Fund, and whose tweet was posted five days before being the subject of an extradition request to the United States.
From 2015 to 2023, the Law and Justice party(, PiS), close with Viktor Orbán, held the power in Poland, but lost in December 2023 to Donald Tusk, much more fiercely anti-Russian, and previously in power from 2007 to 2014.
PiS then had its annual public funding reduced by 40%(, an alleged&contested misuse of state resources during the 2023 campaign).
Then not only did Donald Tusk replaced the management of public television, radio, and the state news agency, but he also placed them in liquidation(, which may not lead to their dismantlement, it’s apparently more of a legal reason/structure to end their independence, their liquidators being appointed directly by the polish government).
Journalists from the conservative, PiS-aligned TV Republika and wPolsce24 have repeatedly been denied accreditation to government press conferences and other official events, and then completely lost their broadcasting licence, their appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court is still pending so they’re allowed to continue broadcasting until then, they’re two large channels, even more in a “news channel” narrower ranking. On the other side, he declared TVN and Polsat as “strategic companies”, so that the ownership of these large private channels can no longer be transferred without government approval, to pro-russian people for instance(, which was the official reason).
The former minister of Justice isn’t the only one persecuted, there were also the former interior minister Mariusz Kamiński in January 2024 with his deputy, and the former deputy justice minister Marcin Romanowski in July 2024, as well as the former intelligence chief Piotr Pogonowski, and National Bank governor Adam Glapiński.
He fired the National Prosecutor against the decision of the president and the Supreme Court, and since the Constitutional Tribunal of Poland was apparently too favorable to PiS, Tusk’s government just refused to publish any Tribunal’s judgment since March 2024, both institutions have still not resolved this conflict and the Constitutional Tribunal continues to issue judgments that the government refuses to publish.
Despite that, in May 2024 the EU ended his article 7 procedure against disobedient member states to exclude them, they also gave Poland €137 billion a few months earlier, you now know the acceptable limits to the left and the right.Ukraine overthrew Yanukovych with the help of the west, and already started after 2004 to “promote the ukrainian language” by enforcing subtitles, imposing ukrainian in the administration(, reverted in 2012 with Yanukovych), having more and more conflicts with Russia, promoting Stepan Bandera and others, they also launched a witch hunt against their anti-e.u. opponents(, e.g. Borys Kolesnykov). In Moldova, Ilan Shor and others were also attacked before 2014 under what may have been false pretenses.
In Estonia, they went even further by banning 6.1% of their population from voting.
In Latvia, the Harmony party was the main force of opposition but has now virtually disappeared after 2022, even if their leader Nils Ušakovs was already accused of corruption in 2019. And many diverse things against pro-russiansIn Bulgaria, they tried to ban the Vazrazhdane party but ended up failing, so it’s now the third political party of the country.
It is good to know that with the Magnitsky Act, the u.s. can just ban pro-russian political candidates from participating. They sanctioned Delyan Peevski and Vasil Bozhkov in 2021, as well as Vladislav Goranov in 2023.
The Magnitsky act was used in other countries of the eastern bloc as well : Aleksandar Vulin in Serbia in 2023, Milorad Dodik in Bosnia from 2022 to 2024, Antal Rogán in Hungary in 2025, Vakhtang Gomelaur in Georgia in 2024, …When/If such means were used by governments opposed to Brussels they were described as democratic backsliding, but now it’s democratic restoration, what a contradiction.
And we’ll only hear about, e.g., Georgia or Hungary, or other opponents, exaggerating their misdeeds while ignoring ours

Pro-Russia Narek Karapetyan in Armenia as well
In New Caledonia, France just closed 48 polling stations out of 56, greatly complicating the votes for the poorest part of the population(, usually pro-independence). I’m from France and that’s one more thing not known.

It’s in .json, and i don’t know of an existing lemmy viewer that accepts a .json(, excepting the app i’m making obv.), but if you’re like me you’d perhaps like to keep an archive of what you wrote, somewhere on your ‘hard drive’/cloud.
(Good to know if you didn’t that admins have a command to “purge” accounts, which shouldn’t be your case since it was a temporary ban, but when your account is purged no-one can ever recover its content anymore, which may suck depending on whether the user cares about h.er.is posts/comments)The principle behind trolling is that we can never be sure, but it’s possible that Skavau ragebaited you into getting you banned, we know that he reported you many times(, on his own admission), and he’s kinda implying that he had a goal in mind here
Like, it’s probably not the case here, but it’s common knowledge that as soon as the 90s, e.g. on m.m.o. forums, users realized that they won’t get banned for gaslighting another user, and if the other user ends up throwing an insult, then s.he will get a temporary ban which could affect h.er.is ingame character(, moderators of that forum were usually paid). So you have players that are now recounting with nostalgia how they managed to get multiple players banned with a single “it’s a skill issue”, or something along these lines.
Anyway, next time perhaps don’t try to have the last word with him, your anger is sometimes a bit painful to read, and getting downvoted even for good comments(, because some people followed you from another comment or post,) is never a pleasant experience, everyone seeks some amount of social validation as you already know 🤷, not that you seem weak enough to be affectedI’ve quickly looked for instances that explicitly claim that they’ll never ban their users, even temporarily, but haven’t found it, there were more than 700 of them at one point, and now “only” more than 500.
Typing “censor” in the search bar here brought https://lemmybefree.net/, even if it’s not perfect.I.m.o., instances should never be allowed to ban anyone sitewide, even temporarily(, except for spamming/bot accounts). Or why not some of them explicitly stating that they want to represent a group of users, and reserving themselves the right to ban a user hurting their reputation, but they should be in minority.
Communities should also never be allowed to permaban, and a one-year ban should be the maximum, but only after, e.g., at least 3 one-month bans, themselves preceded with a demand to simply edit the comment/post.Another really awesome thing with Lemmy that i love, compared to reddit, is their modlog : moderators explain publicly the reason for banning someone, and have to display the censored comment.
Meanwhile, not only will reddit moderators usually won’t even give you an explanation, sometimes even if you send them a d.m., but reddit won’t even warn you that your comment or post has been shadowbanned/censored, i systematically have to double-check with other accounts, and one day i may have to use VPNs if they begin to shadowban you according to your IP adress.Anyway, you posted hundreds of comments for something like 18h straight or more, and it doesn’t seem like it was a pleasant experience, i hope that you’ll have more success/fun next time :) !

3·10 个月前Then the first part(, leaving the choice of blocking an instance to the user,) is a relatively common desire since i’ve already seen it expressed before. If enough people keep asking for it then it may happen.
I’m making a lemmy app and among other things you’ll be able to follow (a group of )users and not only (a group of )communities, sthg reddit will end up adopting probably. And you’ll also be able to display the “All” tab with multiple accounts. So, if you have an account on lemmy.world, as well as on the instances blocked by lemmy.world, then you’ll be able to have access to all instances at once.
You can see the instances blocked by going to sh.itjust.works/instances, or lemmy.ml/instances, and as you can see only very little instances, for spamming i think, were blocked. Which means that you’re probably already seeing ~99% of lemmy in your “All” tab ?It doesn’t solve the presence of moderators in communities but that may be kinda out-of-topic from your original subject.
(i’m going to sleep r.n., so don’t be surprised if i don’t answer before tomorrow, not that there’s necessarily something to add, but you seemed to go further than being able to talk with all instances from any instance of origin)

I still post to about the same audience or smaller, not bigger than peak reddit. If these two sentences are meant to be understood together, then it’s misleading to use the word censorship i think, it’s more a mix of a lack of visibility and echo chambers, in which case these are two things that don’t seem debatable/false.

21·10 个月前From what i understood :
- When you’re critcizing the incomplete/broken system of federation, would it be enough if instances can’t block each other(, even if you’d probably don’t mind if users can block instances) ? I’ve seen that same thought in /c/fediverse a few times, along the lines of being able to access a real “All” tab ;
- Instances shouldn’t communicate through DNS because authorities could block it, hence why you’re suggesting to use Tor, it’d make Lemmy a.n free/unconstrained network ;
- You’re making a mistake i.m.o. when stating that Lemmy will become censored like Reddit, because you can’t have the same Lemmy admins for all instances. So, while Reddit banned republicans and communists, it can’t be done for Lemmy(, unless through national/federal laws). You probably already knew that, just in case(, bonus by the devs) ;
- It feels like the core of your speech ? In any case, i’m missing almost all of what’s surrounding it hence the comment above.

Depends, i haven’t understood what he talked about, and neither have you. What if it’s a moderation made by the user h.er.im.self, while taking into account the vote of users with the same “tags”/preferences as him ? That’s not his idea but other methods are possible, in any case it’s aiming for an ideal of freedom, it’s left to us to see the best path in attaining it, and internet is still in its infancy.
Almost everyone in this thread opposed him bar a few people.

2·10 个月前I’ve read less than half of the comments here, but my main feeling is that the downvotes only happened because they didn’t understood what you said, in their mind you want something even less censored than 4Chan, which will lead to something even worse than 4Chan, they believe that moderation helps in healthy discussions.
I’ve got reserves on that, for example mods should only ask for the user to edit h.er.is comment instead of instabanning them for life, and as i said elsewhere our states don’t only ask platforms but are making laws to “moderate” the internet. But that’s not what you were talking about, these downvotes should tell you that your thought hasn’t matured enough to be presented as a clear project, like here :
I will not be spinning up instances of anything. I will seed hashes in bittorrent-like P2P networks, I will put my posts where they fit, I will look for posts from others in the most anti-censorship ways I can find, and I will hope devs and server admins create a version of Lemmy that’s fitting for more of my posts - while hurrying toward a possible future where Tor isn’t enough to make Lemmy relevant anymore, because P2P networks become the only place worth posting anything.
At first i was furious because i thought that many people opposed freedom of expression, but after reading more comments i’m relieved that it’s still seen favorably by a majority.
The problem here seems to be that your “vision” isn’t clear enough, and that’s probably why you wanted to discuss it with others. The good news is that people didn’t oppose your ideasIt’s a bit late in France so i don’t intend to stay much more online(, and you’ve been at it for more than 12 hours), even if i’d be interested in your answer because i frankly still don’t understand you, sry :/

1·10 个月前Yes you can.
Are you still speaking about state/national/federal laws ? Because you can’t, and these laws expect every platform to comply, it’ll probably be automated and only ignored for a while until really applied, or only if necessary in some contexts

Exploiting human workers is much more problematic than exploiting robots. In a post-scarcity society everyone would have access to healthcare, food, housing, energy, and any goods and services.
Robots will make robots, and raw materials will be automatically mined until taken from asteroids.
However i agree that ideally these robots should be collectively owned, or equally alloted so that individuals loan them to companies, with a public control ensuring that the equilibrium is maintained.
There should also be a prevention over the influence of the wealthy in politics, otherwise they’ll find out a way to have more at the detriment of everyone else in their selfish race to be the number one(, e.g. artificial scarcity, planned obsolescence, oligopolies, influence in politics, …)
In short, i guess what i meant was to point at the elimination of poverty. However, i agree with you that we’ll still need political institutions protecting us from the selfishness of the wealthy, otherwise there could be an increasingly inequal share of the ‘surplus obtained from’/‘exploitation of’ these robots between the wealthy and the poor.
