It already exists. There are businesses whose model is that they rent out vram that you can offload tasks to
And for a couple of years now tech companies have been talking shout how cool it would be for computers to be just portals with all the processing power being online somewhere (as a subscription model)

using Marx’s language will get you ignored at best by a lot of people.
Marx didn’t use the term “late-stage capitalism”. Nor even “late capitalism” which, at least has a proper definition and some theory behind it. “Late-stage capitalism” is an undefined internet term from the last 10-15 years
Certainly not “Marx’s language”
There’s a purple carrot in my fridge right now…

Also, what you’re doing now will have an effect a decade or more down the road

There’s a game I’ve seen a lot of YouTubers starting to play over the last week or two that looks a lot of fun - Mecca Chameleon
Online multiplayer. One person is hunter, others are hiders. The twist is that you can paint your character. So you find a hiding spot, and then paint yourself to blend in to your surroundings
I don’t know if it’s what you’re after, but it looks like a lot of fun

They say “average” volume. What do they mean by that? Or, more precisely, how are they measuring that? RMS? LUFS?
Probably LUFS, but even with LUFS there are ways to make perceived volume louder while remaining within a threshold

This seems like two unrelated stories. It wasn’t his decision to buy the car, nor did he design it. So it seems unlikely that he’s resigning because people don’t like the design or idea of it

Yes, Mark, chase the next thing. I’m sure that will be the one that works out for you

That logo hasn’t grown on me

The picture wasn’t even on the blockchain. It was a url which links to a picture of a cat sitting on someone else’s server

My point is exactly what I said. I don’t know how much clearer I could have been, TBH, if my post is read in the context of the three proceeding it

“Thousands”…
Don’t do Musk’s propaganda job for him. The far-right are doing well enough in the UK without people like you amplifying their lies for them

There are definitely plenty of addictive substances which are banned in the UK

Basically anything where the platform prioritises some things over others, rather than just giving you the posts/videos/whatever in order from the people you’ve subscribed to. Recommendation engines would be one example

They don’t sell as many ads, but they do sell ads. It was only a few months ago they announced that ads would be coming to their maps app. There’s ads in news, the App Store, music, and settings on iOS. Maybe more than aren’t coming to mind immediately
That’s how this video was allegedly made, although I’m extremely sceptical
Oooooh-weee-OOOOH…
What you say is true, but not the reason. Part of reddit’s business model is selling its data to AI companies. So they just don’t want to give it away for free
