Industrial music is an actual thing, with many subgenres ranging from “literally just a washing machine whirring rhythmically” all the way to “EDM with banging noises”.

I’m pretty sure that can be disabled with Active Directory shenanigans and whatnot. I have to use Windows for work as well, in a HIPAA-esque-compliant manner, and I never see the constant AI integrations that people often complain about in Windows. I know our IT team heavily modifies and manages our Windows environments for us.

But podcast ads are more akin to a movie character entirely interrupting the flow of the film to stop and talk for two minutes straight about how great Mercedes is and to recite a series of specifications about that model car and gush at what a low price it is.

I remember making the choice to just stop watching any Linux-focused videos from that channel. They always just tended to frustrate me. But, as I understand, the main host has started to really enjoy Linux lately due to the Steam Machine. Have their Linux videos improved at all due to that?

Apparently some versions of that keyboard’s PCB come with VIA compatibility, and some do require a firmware update or something. Unfortunately, this is not all well documented for this vendor.

Correct, Firefox is not supported. VIA requires WebHID, which is a web standard that Firefox does not support. You can install something like Ungoogled Chromium for this. I keep that browser installed just for tinkering with keyboards. For literally everything else, I use a Firefox fork.

Looks like that keyboard is VIA-compatible. So, you should be able to use VIA to remap the keys so the Fn keys are under a certain layer or something.

You need to set a budget if you want a good recommendation. Because if you can afford a Svalboard, that is absolutely the peak keyboard experience.

A tier lower than that would be the Bastard Keyboards Charybdis. Here is literally mine.

If you don’t need something that’s ergonomic, Keychron is the go-to for cheap-yet-quality mechanical keyboards.

It may not involve 1:1 muscle movements, but it still helps. Having those rough key positions in mind helps both ways. Even using a Svalboard, which is even further from a traditional keyboard, I felt that using a Colemak keyboard on my phone still helped me learn Colemak on my Svalboard.

Dont bother changing your smart phone keyboard too. It has 0% transferable skills or benefits and just so confusing.

How so? When I switched from QWERTY to Colemak, I felt like having the ability to switch my phone keyboard as well really helped ease the transition. Having different layouts in different places just seems like it would be confusing.
