  • AI article: What’s the most overrated travel destination?

    1. New York

Despite it’s glamour and rich history, new york has failed to build tourism capacity in the same way as other global tourism hot-spots have. The city is oriented around making money today , and the people of new York are amnesiac towards their own legacy, whereas European tourist towns are centred entirely around their history.

    1. Thanks for the data collection,

The most common complaints people have about Thanks for the data collection is that it is a two month old account with a randomly generated name and pre-history. Other visitors say “ROFL! It really is,” and report traumatic experiences in modern times such as “Everywhere i go on reddit now there are these dam scalpers - make it stop!” It seems the city has no respect towards its natural water resources.

    Et cet.

  • maybe im just an idiot or have really bad arguments and opinions

I hate how reddit relies on bullying people… all of them, who behave so similarly to one another over there - that is the result of bullying and conditioning until they match that desired social norm.

To be honest, I actually got banned from reddit shortly after I made more of an effort to show kindness to people and communicate in a more casual, natural way for me; less like redditore are known for. It could just be a coincidence but it felt like getting banned for breaking their social-programming.

And yes I’ve had your experience where they pretend to not know what you’re talking about. If you still need something like Google pay, I hear that revolut is good.

  • To tag on a relevant other point, I’ll mention that many people find the stimulation of the outside of the vagina and inside walls to be the pleasurable part rather than the “poking” of the back aka top of the vagina. If it’s just the back of your vagina, e.g the cervix, that hurts to be poked, that is normal. Sexual stimulation makes the vagina expand in size, accommodating the insertion of a penis; sex1 should be gently inserted unless you’ve requested otherwise, being one of the lesser number of receivers who enjoy rough sex - it’s courtesy. It may be the case that your vagina is particularly short and hence you’ve already noticed the discomfort of insertions.

1 also an archaic term for a penis lol, used as such here.

  • Also, if you’re being examined, they tell you to take deep breaths, as if they know that anything going up is going to be painful

Most people would need a mood to be set to enjoy sex or to be ready to receive something. Think this applies for women and for men who partake in anal sex.

By that I mean they need to get turned on to feel like having intercourse, because yeah, intercourse is strenuous and requires your body to be in a specific mode. For a penis inserter, getting turned on is a much simpler affair and can happen in a matter of about 1 second.

Lastly, women often scream during sex.

I don’t know if they do to be honest. A lot of pornstars do, hahaha - they’re paid to ham it up and overall they give an unrealistic view of how sex works. (Once upon a time the main watchers of porn would be people who hadn’t had it yet. Possibly still the case)

Uhh despite my initial dismissal, i’ll suggest this: some people might do it because sex can be akin to tickling, where your nervous system gives you mixed messages or gets overloaded. And, some women exist who grossly exaggerate their “noises” during sex, believing it makes it more fun or gives an ego boost to the husband. It probably can make it more fun for both parties, but the authentic noises - no matter how quiet they are compared to screams - are great as well.

Can’t really speak for the experience of having a vagina but if it hurts so much that you don’t ever feel like having sex, and haven’t self stimulated in any way, talk to a doctor about it?

  • Good question
EDIT: Because nobody else has explained it adequately: OP, ADHD is not defined by habits of daydreaming. i.e not all ADHD people have maladaptive daydreams . I personally do, so i answered it as if it was specifically for ADHD people who experience Maladaptive daydreams. Those of us who do will have them in varying frequency or varying control over them. I would say I don’t get them a lot but I have triggers for them. For it to happen in a movie someone would have to say something reminding me of trauma anxiety or embarrassment, and I’ll be taken back.

    So TL;DR

    • daydreaming is not a problem for most adhd people in this way.
    • movies provide good level of stimulation. If they don’t, the adhd person is not staying to watch it anyway.
    • if someone is daydreaming throughout movies constantly, it’s not the “during movies” part that is the problem, it’s happening all the time.

    My answer:

    • First let’s clarify how I’m actually watching films:

I am very discerning as to whether I’ll enjoy a film or not. Currently I will only go to the cinema or sit down to watch something in one sitting if I know I’ll like it.

Nowadays I have the privilege of getting to put something on from Netflix, then browse my phone - if it’s good, I’ll put my phone down. If it’s bad, I stop the film. No chance for daydreams there.

    • The “talking over the top of it” strategy.

My sister, I think, introduced me to the idea that you can make jokes about a film while watching, and make people laugh. I loved doing that as a kid. A bit too much. I massively disrupted my middle school film club by talking through most films. Feels bad. But with the right company it’s hilarious, it’s good for rowdy film watching sessions with your friends. Nowadays I know how to limit myself and do it to a more charming, non-interruptive, frequency.

    • snacks maybe?

I don’t need snacks for films but I think some people choose snacks on the basis of needing them to actually enjoy and focus on the film/ get into the mood of it.

    • Personally: I just like films

I don’t daydream often when in a task, and movies actually feel like a task. Since watching a movie has dialogue, it feels like being talked to, and that helps not daydream

Movies probably are the daydream to our brain in that moment. They probably help to encourage daydreaming, and by extension, control over daydreaming, among all types of people.

There must be some movies that would see people daydream in, though. Too boring. But as I said earlier I’m super picky about what I’ll watch. I stopped watching The Prestige earlier just because the sound mixing was bloody awful.

    1. The thing is my country has free healthcare, so if enough people are willing to donate, sperm is theoretically free.

    2. That’s given me some stuff to think about though - I’m going to search and see if there are case studies of people being pestered for child care (it says you’re under no obligation but a particularly devious person might lie to the court/police, right?)

And then there’s also the fact that it could be people you don’t want to create a baby with. Idk. TBH i don’t think people who try to exploit infrastructure like that are going to be bothering with sperm donation, i think those unpleasant people will be making babies traditionally, and if they’re infertile that just means more zero consequence sex to them.

Some good news is also that the NHS provides a professional to explain what the implication of the decision are so maybe this will come up or i can ask about it. It would certainly explain why donation rates are so low - I’m not sure what’s so much worse to everyone about masturbating in a clinic to masturbating at home and “wasting” the genetic material. (other than the fact that they don’t want to create random kids they won’t meet)

it’s a bigger decision than I’ve given thought to so far, i’ll give you that.

  • I believe you have to write out a few paragraphs about yourself so that sperm-receivers feel they have some choice in the matter. But that’s a good point, i do feel a bit eased to hear that. Regarding race, i think they tell this to donors as well because 1. a lot of people like to have children from a similar genetic background to their infertile partner / themselves, and 2. Certain diseases are more prone from mixed races, right? That’s what i’ve heard from stem cell donation

Definitely going to do it through an official way.

From what i remember, there is no expectation for child support and they can only contact you 18, maybe 16, years later. There’s a limit on how many children can be produced with the sperm. (3 i think?) Before they ask you to donate again - if you say no, no more is produced. If you say yes, 3 more kids can be produced from your next batch)
