currentaffairs.org? nah, i own my affairs!
me and my homies are using fedora KDE, which we can greatly recommend. we use it not just for personal gaming, creative tools, and software development but also (especially) on our work machines.

one is €, one is $. i guess they’re fined in € but it’s converted to $ for the convenience of some readers?

the random directories you see are shown as a punishment when you mix up the letters, yk

damn, i didn’t know, thanks!

man i wish we had those in the eu. them and jeff geerling

i ordered one of those two months ago and the expected delivery date in 2027…
This comment very much resonates with me. been distro hopping for a while, with ubuntu, arch, debian, and nix. fedora has been very awesomely boring, with the caveats mentioned above.
codecs were confusing at first, just like flatpaks.
in just one way my personal preferences differ here. i love using podman and always try using that first, and only then switch to docker if necessary. i also use fedora on my work laptop, and was surprised how many more steps it took for my colleagues to get podman running well. (still more enjoyable than docker imo)

they wanna own their infra i guess. not being dependent is a good thing for a gov, and in choosing forgejo they’re basically choosing codeberg after all.
i really don’t get it either. i feel like op tends to write well researched and thought out blogs, which are nice to read too.
@op: you do good stuff!
they even have a blog post telling you to never click domains that look like the domain of the blog :D

yes, but
if you can cycle your home assistant with the shelly plug whilst your home assistant is down, yes. from experience it’s really quite annoying to have a smart plug switch off HA…

tbf, eden is a new development and pretty young compared to yuzu and how mature it was. at least afaik

well, my full private address, including name, as well as email and one of the following phone number, fax number, contact form. also you need to be reachable in a „timely manor“ usually 48 hours during workdays.
however i really don’t want to publically display my address and phone number. i’d love to have a fax number that converts to pdf/ email tho. well, and then i’d need to rent an address…

literally the reason for why i don’t host a blog… those impressum services be pricy

oooh, true, i forgot to included them on the list. thanks for the reminder!

I‘ve been looking into this a bit and whilst i haven’t really tried any of the alternatives, i did collect some notes:
please let me know what y’all think
clearly that is because emacs is an OS and not a DE…
my mates and i are also hosting pocketID. it’s solid stuff
