I’m not a developer, so maybe I’m underestimating things, but these tools conceptually don’t seem like a hard thing to make.

Just a whitelist/blacklist of apps and similar for internet usage.

I’m sure you’re not alone in that, which means they knew what they were doing and probably made the right choice.

I never got very good at it. I feel like they were worried that not enough people enjoy turn-based combat these days and were trying to spice it up.

I love turn-based combat though and think it would’ve been just fine without the additions.

It messes so much up when I’m streaming from one PC to another too. I usually have to go back and forth to the other room to use the launcher, and sometimes again to make sure it focuses on the right application window.

Yeah, I forgive XCOM for the same reason. Launchers are helpful for mod-heavy games.

I’m with you. I’m not really one for story-driven or grindy games, but give me a game that feels impossible at first, and I’ll be hooked.

That’s awesome! I’ve also had pretty good luck with gaming. The one thing I haven’t figured out how to fix yet is streaming to discord. If a game is running through the proton layer, discord doesn’t identify the game (I think the application gets called steamapp+random numbers), and I’m not sure how to direct it to it. Other than that, just some minor tweaking here or there.

I don’t know yet either. I’m only at the “idea” phase for that one and not quite ready to move on it yet. It seems like such a common need that there must be a few open source projects out there, I assume.

I’ve briefly considered putting videos in their own category in Jellyfin, just for simplicity’s sake. Not sure if it handles photos too or if I would even want to try that though.
