You can go from Portugal to Poland with your country’s ID… And don’t be required to show it anywhere.
Because the US right now is a shithole country. In almost all developed nations you have the right to a free or very cheap education.
It world be nice if some were firefighters/medics and not cops

A self-hosted instance has a big advantage: only those working on that admin can have a user. So if you see, p.e., @[email protected] you know it’s the real account and not a fake one.

If those sensors give the values thru a server port and the airbag reads them as a client there is no need for more interaction than what the 90s browsers had with the web servers.
Except in the Fediverse we can block instances. So one from Reddit or Meta is just a click away from being banned.
A protocol is just the rules to do something. Doesn’t matter if it’s a human language, a machine language, cleaning a room, driving a car, …

1·2 months agoThere are two “possible” time travel scenarios:
- You go back in time and create a new timeline (Back to the future, …) so you can’t go back to your timeline.
- You go back in time and change the unique timeline (EG) so you memories change and whatever you changed it is now reality.
The difference is if the traveler is linked or not to the traveler’s timeline. In the first case, the traveler is not linked and can change anything… But in the traveler’s timeline nothing has changed and the travel didn’t work.
In the second case, the traveler is linked and anything that changes because of the traveler is now that timeline reality and that can create a paradox. Imagine you go back and kill Trump when he was a kid. But you went back because you know the current Trump, the president. But of you kill him while he is a kid he won’t become president and you won’t know him so you won’t travel back to kill him… so he will grow up and become the president and…
The only real question is how long until 1929 comes again.
