That’s a good point on how the OS could be “causing” it. I don’t think my take was very likely after I thought about it for a while.

From the pico side of things it does require an account but you can disable any telemetry in the settings. I have looked at my network traffic with it both on and off and they do seem to be true to their word. I wouldn’t trust their apps or App Store necessarily, I just use Pico Connect to connect to my windows PC (or ALVR on Linux) and everything is steam or local from that point on. I’m pretty sure I made the account with a fake name and email and it let me.

I have been playing with ALVR with a NON quest wireless headset. The Pico 4 does sort-of work but it does not work well enough for me to actually use it that way. That’s even with the connection being over USB instead of wireless (though it does also work wirelessly). I hope that someday ALVR is a suitable replacement for Pico Connect or that Pico Connect comes to Linux. (Running on regular Fedora btw)

Maybe has something to do with making assumptions about how the nand controller is going to allocate things across superpages but that is a stupid random guess and also I have no idea why it’s an OS issue but boy do they keep finding ways

Not sure how common this is, but we ordered some clothing dyes from Walmart since they were the only place that had it, anyway they delivered it with Uber for some reason. It was fast but we didn’t know and also we hate Uber, so that sucked. Maritime Canada btw, not sure about the states. I assume for something big and in demand like that it’ll be normal box shipping. I know a lot of people are recommending fstsb entries, but since you’re using a DE, you can have the credential stored in the wallet / session manager for your DE. KDE and Gnome should both have an automount option using keys from there. Then you also can find a preference somewhere to unlock your wallet / session keys thing on login. Bing bang boom you should have it mount and unlock automatically without having to enter any extra stuff with the added benefit of not leaving the key around (though since it seems you have FDE anyway that’s a minor issue depending on your threat model)

I don’t mean to pry but sausage in general, especially seemingly chili cheese sausage, has an incredible amount of fat (that is not to say the fat is bad, subtypes and fatty acid chain length are important to note), wouldn’t this be counter to your point? Unless the chili cheese smoked sausages are some Franken-Sausage (lol) that is super lean.
