I have 30 people on my Plex share and never had to care about bandwidth so I’m a bit worried for my end
How much bandwidth is used via the VPS in this instance? I’ve seen most VPS in the USA have a limit of 1TB of bandwidth.
How many users are you sharing with?
I know Hetzner does 20TB bandwidth, but that is only EU servers as far as I know.
I use KeePassXC/DX with Syncthing for 5ish years now. I think I had one database sync conflict in all that time.
Super solid, never have had to worry about these shenanigans with LastPass or 1pass or bitwarden or whatever

Ex-hiring manager here.
We preferred certs that were tied to specific software solutions.
So the A+, Linux+, Sec+, LPIC, etc. were fine but those are generalized.
We looked for Red Hat certs, vmware, aws, etc. because that was the software we used.
Of course general Linux skills are sought after, but less training was required for the specific certs to a certain sense.
I used to be a hiring manager for a Linux team(I enthusiastically stepped down because upper management sucks) and we valued tech certs, especially if you could talk the talk.
We had dudes come in with degrees in CS or Cyber and had zero command line knowledge. Of course there were more knowledgable folks but… yeah. Degrees weren’t required either just “desired”.
We never required, but definitely listed specific certs that were relevant like the RHCSA. However, if you had like the A+ and some years of help desk experience we’d interview you and we got some good hires that way because they hadn’t learned bad habits by then like some…more experienced applicants had.
And another thing I have not heard yet. Dokploy looks really enticing just from a brief look at their site, I’ll definitely add it to my list of things to look into. Thank you!
How long have you been running this type of setup?
How is swarm support/integration with Dokploy? Are you able to initiate the swarm and also connect other docker nodes to that swarm all through the webgui or does Dokploy just see and attach to the swarm after its been setup? Are you able to manage it all through the gui? Swing/motion containers to other nodes, etc.

Glad to hear I’m not crazy with different distros haha. I wanted to be able to have different “enviroments” to keep familiar with release schedules, package managers, and just the flow of the distro. I’ve been using nothing but Debian/Ubuntu in my homelab for ~10 years now, at work we use RHEL, and for my desktops I’m on Arch. I’ll have to look into pinning.
I’ve never heard of Nomad(love the name) so I’ll definitely add it to my list of things to research. Looking at their site it looks solid, but want to weigh my options once I’ve loomed at everything.
And thanks for your comment! I’ve been doing this a long time and nothing “tickles” my brain more than something in my homelab breaking and I have to figure out how to fix it and then prevent it going forward.
Hmm, I’ll have to play around with it a bit more then to see if I can trigger it.
My only gripe is the browser autofill. Sometimes it triggers correctly and sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve noticed if I let KeePass add in a new login itself after I’ve manually entered it then it’s much more receptive to suggesting that login correctly going forward. So I’m tempted to create a brand new database and login everything manually so KeePass will create the database entries itself to fix my gripe.
I’ve been using KeePass with Syncthing for 5+ years now and I think I’ve only had a sync issue once in all this time.
Granted I do make sure I only use the database on one device at a time (so not making edits on desktop and my phone at the same time) and I’m using XC and DX clients not the OG KeePass program.
I’m curious what is causing sync issues to make it “common”, I use my db every day.
Yup, been doing this combo for 5-6 years now.
I use KeePassXC on desktop and KeePassDX on Android. No issues whatsoever.
I do have a NAS so that’s my “always on” device for Syncthing. Everything syncs up within like 10-15 seconds when a device connects.
I also use a key file as a pseudo 2FA that I keep on a flash drive, so you’d need my master password and my key file to unlock the database.
Happy to see. I tried playing the Linux version of PokeMMO and it sees “Steam Controller” and adds it in the game settings, but I cannot remap any of the controls. Even adding the game to Steam as a non-Steam game won’t work as Steam Input/Overlay can’t wrap around the process correctly(or at least I couldn’t find a way).
Ended up downloading the .exe version, added that to Steam, and then I could use Steam Input to play the game and setup controller layouts for it.

Well I found good alternatives(Fossify stuff) or most apps I use already have GitHub releases. I just need to try these apps out and if I dont like them then find other alternatives. Like map apps, calendar, voice recorder, etc. Again I found alts, just not sure how they’ll actually function until using them.
My biggest one is the Steam app for their authenticator. I read some stuff online that Aegis supposedly can work as a Steam auth, but yeah.
I’m about to make the switch myself. I have a Pixel tablet and a P9 Pro. I swapped my tablet over just so I can test things out. I want to deGoogle completely. No play store.
So far I’ve had to make a list of all my apps I have on my phone and go one-by-one seeing if there’s an apk for it somewhere outside of play store, and if not, then if there’s an alternative app, and then website or PWA it is.
I’ve come to realize I have a lot of unnecessary bullshit on my phone to begin with. Think I’ll make the switch this weekend, just need to find a few more alternatives to specific apps.
Jellyfin is great! Unfortunately I’m neck deep in Plex…been using it for 10+ years now…I have a Jellyfin instance spun up but sharing it out to others is a pain, but works well on my Tailscale.

I have two kids and I won’t allow them to watch YouTube until they’re teens or if I watch the vids with them.
Between ElsaGate, disinformation, sexism, and just disgusting ads that play on there…and then there’s YouTube Shorts for brainrot…you can’t just blindly allow them access. Even the “kids” version of YouTube is fucking terrible.
I download Ms Rachel’s videos and play those from my Plex server for them if I need a break or have chores/dinner to do and need a hour to distract them. No ads or auto play videos or anything else.
For your teens, best you can do is make sure they use an ad blocker if possible and teach them how to vet info. I hear people at work say the stupidest “alpha male” sound bites and a simple Google search proves shit wrong 99% of the time, yet these idiots gobble it up.
