Oh, yes, I’m being horribly pedantic due to quite obviously being triggered, so I don’t argue the related points you are making. Not at all.

It’s not that I disagree with you. I do think I get where you’re coming from.
I specifically have a problem with those looks being prioritized. I mean, think about it if they’re worried more about the appearance than they are about the sound quality, that hubris has become straight up pride. But I’m not talking like the positive connotation. I’m talking pride as in the sin from the Bible.

Honestly, for me things like this are not mildly interesting, but infuriating. I don’t care how pretty it is, it’s not gonna sound better because of aesthetics. Hell, although I’m not sure on this case, musical instruments crafted to look pretty will often sound worse. And I don’t support savaging nature just to find shit to make fancy ass things for pedophile sociopaths that dedicate their lives to making things worse for everyone else.

Oh, well, the fact that we saw it all as “not our problem” until then kinda makes us opportunistic assholes, though. Especially since we exploited the hell out of the post war circumstances. Shit, original concept for the UN gave us the only veto. But we had to bribe the reluctant countries with something.
Oh, don’t forget that the horrible evil enemy everyone was fighting took a LOT of inspiration in the mechanics of how to be so evil directly from American politics.
So, helping end the war? Yeah, that’s generally a pretty cool thing. Everything else? Ummm, yuck.
The myth we were all taught about the nobility of our country was never true. For fucks sake, the founding of our country was upon the genocide of the native population.
No, we’ve never been great. Sorry.

Your comment kinda sounds like an accusation. If they don’t jack up the price, it’s not profiteering. Hell, even if they sell at the price they paid, it still doesn’t meet the definition.
But, I agree with the sentiment. Scalpers should be drawn and quartered, at minimum!

Ummm…no.
Better than this? Yeah!
But, fuck man, the term banana republic only exists because of us.

And let’s not forget the asinine claim about music composition. Yeah, this is a bullshit fluff piece to keep attention on AI.

Well, those fuckers captured the US government decades ago. Pretty much why the actual effect of actions taken by either party play out almost the same fucking way…

…a counterpoint that this is not necessarily bloat. It’s debatable that this is the right tool to have this feature…
That’s called bloat.

That’s it? That’s why you’re being such an arrogant prick?
Huh. You do you, I guess…
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Facebook specifically was aware that teenage girls were especially harmed by their algorithms, so naturally, instead of reducing that harm, they leaned into it.

Awesome, that asks for the info. Gotta try this out later; I don’t even have a large library, but the renaming is so tedious! But clicking through to identify each file that Jellyfin didn’t automatically identify is worse…

Ugh. I was excited until I saw it’s for Windows. Doh!

Not a lawyer, but when the corporation goes to trial instead of selling, that’s not a great sign.
So, my guess is either the defendants know they are probably going to win, or the penalty for losing is likely to be insignificant.

I agree, except that it’s the data broker corporations that are really behind this.

So called “social” media exists to isolate you. The illusion if your life being “crippled” only affects you if you choose to let that happen

Wow are you entirely missing the point.

That matters?
It are you saying joking about sexually assaulting an infant is okay? But as long as you didn’t rape infants, you get a pass?
Whatever the fuck your angle is - it’s dumb.
Ah, that does make sense
