  • From Deezer’s website, the detection system tags songs that are either fully AI generated rather than produced or mastered with the help of AI tools. You can also appeal if you believe your music was falsely flagged.

I strongly oppose the use of generative AI in art but if it has to be done, it should at least be labeled as AI (ideally by the “creator” themselves).

I wonder how accurate the AI detection tools are though, considering how common are posts where AI detection tools used in schools falsely flagged student assignments.

There was a song I quite liked which had several million views on YouTube which I was surprised to see was flagged as AI generated. No one I showed it to it could hear any obvious signs of AI. The main red flags were that the artists released several albums in a short time span and had no online presence on any platform you would expect to see musicians on (Bandcamp, Discogs, etc) besides YouTube and the streaming ones.

  • Once my avocados weren’t ripe enough for a recipe I wanted to make on the day I was having guests over. I searched for tips to ripen or soften them more quickly. One of these tips was to wrap them in foil and bake them in the oven (the tip specifically said it would help with the texture and not the taste). Well, it took way longer than the tip said it would for the avocados to soften and they tasted like hot shit. It would have been better to just save them for another day.

  • It is custom in some cultures, including mine, to host holidays and personal events in your own home and visit friends and family in their homes when it is their turn. There may not be (or have been at the time) a good selection of restaurants, those restaurants might be expensive or exclusive, and inviting someone for a home cooked meal feels like the more personal and thoughtful thing to do. Some older generations have a hard time letting go of these customs without understanding that circumstances have changed (less family and community support, more options for eating out).

It can be exhausting having to regularly host and clean before and after large groups of people on top of all your other responsibilities and I can’t blame anyone for wanting to celebrate in a restaurant or somewhere outside the home.
