YMMV but I managed to get a Netgear Nighthawk, one or two generations old, for $10 from a thrift store nearby when my router was starting to crap out. It might be my area but I found at least a couple dozen of those same routers over the years.

I nabbed it, flashed Fresh Tomato on it, and it has been performing excellent for two years.

When I pee sitting down, I always have some more trickle out when I stand up. That can cause more mess to clean up than the alternative. Is that not a common issue? Do I, like Hank Hill, have a narrow urethra?

I like a reverse sear. Here’s the method:

Cook on a pan, medium low heat and flip often. Once the bread is at the preferred level of browning, cook it in a toaster oven (or a household range) at around 200-250F until the contents are warm. The time that takes depends on the sandwich and initial sear method, just check it plenty of times until you get a hang of it

I’m eagerly looking forward to more silly, niche communities. Communities like /c/[email protected] & /c/[email protected] are wonderful examples of people providing genuinely human and silly fun content. It shows there’s an actual community, not just nerds advocating for Linux.

I do find a few things annoying about the federation system, like opening links directly to lemmy.world on my desktop an having to surgically recreate the link on my instance if I want to interact with it at all. I figure it’s part of the growing pains and we will find interesting ways to solve it.

Still, I feel so much better using this platform. I feel like contributing isn’t just padding the Reddit admin’s pockets and being used to fuel AI models. Y’all are a much more chill group anyway. I’ll keep posting my food here.
