Aren’t they notorious for using a fuckload of contractors though? I know that them relying on a revolving door of limited-time contractors to avoid hiring full-time employees caused a ton of issues with Infinite. This statement just strikes me as “don’t worry, it’s just the plebs who were laid-off! The C-suite all still have their jobs 🙂”

I just finished that game 3 days ago, and I had exactly the same experience. 120 hours even though I could have gotten my fill in 40. I will say though, there’s a 100% optional area called Endless Tower, and you do NOT need to finish everything there. In the free “Thank You” update, they added extra paintings (emphasis on the pain) that have reworked versions of several major bosses. Those reworks are made to be extra hard for level 99 parties and include tons of meta-build-countering mechanics to be even worse. They aren’t worth your time. At all.

There’s a conversation between Banner and Rhodes while they’re working on the time travel tech that’s basically saying “anything we do in the past becomes the new cannon” as a massive handwave. It doesn’t make sense at all, the writers know it, so they put that in as a not-so-subtle message to the audience to not take it seriously.
