Honestly, I use Reddit more now that I’m also on the threadiverse. There’s active local content and more Reddits and posts tied to the genres of books I read. Yes, I should be the change I want to see, but there’s only so much of that I can do.

93·3 months agoYou can go into the settings and manually disable (nearly?) all the features that are removed in the paid version without paying anything. That’s what I did. They aren’t paywalling the ability disable the features.
It doesn’t matter to me whether someone uses Brave or not, but the headline is misleading, though pedantically accurate.

Definitely. I find I’m on Reddit more often since I started using PieFed. It’s not just the additional amount of engagement, but I’m using hyper-local and the more specialized book based reddits that don’t seem to exist on the Fediverse. I don’t have the bandwidth to create and promote communities I find missing.

44·3 months agoI don’t understand why they’re saying the government will provide a high Universal Basic Income when they refuse to pay a fair share of taxes from their wealth or businesses and the the party of fiscal responsibility (/s) is exploding the debt as they do every time they’re in power. Are they thinking a UBI and a Value Added Tax? The numbers will not add up.

31·3 months agoNot quite an LLM, but I asked Siri the answer to 24*6, without thinking. When I saw the answer I realized if I actually took a moment using some critical thinking I would have easily gotten it. In short, I believe it.
