If the movie is interesting, I have little problem focusing. But sometimes no matter how interesting it is, I have squirrel moments anyway. If I’m at home, simple, just rewind. Being in a theater helps a lot - the environment helps the brain focus on the screen. If I have a problem paying attention to a movie in a theater, it’s probably just not very good.

There are some shops that will actually collect the vapes and send them back to the manufacturer for recycling. But it’s less common than it used to be, which frustrates me to no end, it should be the reverse if anything.
I think it’s the marketing of it. A decent amount of people I’ve talked to genuinely don’t know that there’s a reusable option. This also changed when the tobacco industry got involved. Vaping used to have more of a culture of cessation. It was talked about how you could transition from cigs at a higher nicotine level, then bring it down until you’re vaping zero nic, then quit that. I barely hear anyone talk about the quitting pipeline anymore. I don’t think it’s an accident, I think it’s intentional.
Edit: I also think it’s the fact that you only have to buy one thing, and the 3 things (device, coils, juice) aren’t available in every gas station like disposables are. And the user experience - open the box and it starts right up, no refills, all it needs is a charge once in a while. People are really fucking lazy, by nature. But the cost of all those conveniences is indebted tenfold upon the environment, as destruction and waste.
As someone who vapes quite a bit, I would genuinely love to see this. Disposables are an absolute shitshow and never should have existed in the first place.

Bitwarden is, by definition, open source. It has been since I started using it ~6 years ago. I’m tired of literally everything having the potential for enshittification. Nothing is safe in the long run, not even volunteer-run projects. If you think your favorite project is safe because of some “core ethos” or “guiding principles”, you’re just drinking the kool-aid. edit: On top of that, each data point is presented as some sort of horrible catastrophe, when some are completely benign. Barely addressing why some points actually matter, or not at all. It’s a good idea. Small business loans are a thing, I have no idea how to navigate them though. But I do know they’re sometimes provided by nonprofits and NGO’s. Office space rents haven’t declined yet, but if the market overall takes a downturn, that will probably be some of the first real estate to feel the heat. Lots are sitting empty with the landlord holding out for a higher price they think they can achieve, so maybe look at the price history of some near you. If they’re starting to decline, decent chance they’ll continue. Could even start out in a strip mall, then expand to your dream facility type after getting off the ground. Only thing I’d be real worried about is physical security, in any scenario. People love stealing computers and such. It sucks.

Any free vpn is good enough to shield from dmca consequences on your own network, and takes the place of the brave shield in your stack. This doesn’t apply if you’re collecting huge amounts, or doing something besides just consuming media, something that activates the deeper tentacles of the fed. But the days of individuals being prosecuted under dmca for personal piracy are pretty much long past.
Edit: try to make sure said vpn isn’t also running a cryptominer, and you can safely assume they’re selling your info. So be aware of what you give them.
I feel your pain. The really good ones plan for this, some pop up immediately when you scroll up and that sucks. The proper thing to do (imo) is to wait for the user to scroll 80% of the viewport back up, only then letting it begin to slide in, and have it slide in at a rate 1/2 of the page scroll. I do like having it easily available, but it should feel like it’s trying to stay out of the way.
