Reselling isn’t a thing with any PC game store I know. Which is the only drawback for me. Is it possible to sell my old PS game discs or are they attached to my PS account?
So… Sony could, from a technical POV, block games which come on disc, too? It’s just a tiny firmware update. And good luck playing GTA online or Diablo 4 with an offline PS to prevent updates. Or any game which needs a newer PS firmware.
The root issue seems to be that you are not root on your PS. And you don’t trust Sony with that role.
At one point people decided that they needed that shiny new ps-only exclusive title regardless. And Sony knows that the majority doesn’t care about control, as long as they don’t take it away from them.
Disabling games which someone bought licensed is a thing with Sony? That ecosystem has bigger problems than a missing disc drive it seems.
What possibilities are lost with the disc(ontinuation)? Has running the PS without a permanent network connection been a regular use case for many? Are DLCs and frequent patches and updates not a thing in the Sony sphere?

Fusion isn’t as bad as fission or fossil fuel. To date, terrestrial fusion has been a net-negative energy system. That’s strictly worse than fission or fossil.
My mistake. I did not specify in what regard. I had the waste in mind. Fusion waste is radioactive for a few decades. Fuel wise, there is an abundance of Deuterium, like a gram of it in every bucket of ocean water give or take. Tritium? That’s the harder part.

Every energy source as its drawbacks. I.e. Solar panels and wind have the recycling of compound materials issue - it’s all glued together. And the environmental impact of source materials production, i.e. neodymium. Mining, refining,…
Some are worse than others. But none is or will be impact free in terms of sustainability or environmental destruction.

I can’t contribute much. Futo Keyboard is nice for android. Speech Note is a tool for linux that I use from time to time… It is a bit slow without GPU acceleration and the resulting text are about 95% correct.

You are right. Backup and storage of scans should be not a big deal.
But the paper documents:
Some things like birth and education certificates need to be kept indefinitely. Some documents like receipts need to be kept for a while. Some documents can be discarded after scan and some are PDFs entirely.
