I know this is hardly an replacement for what instagram is like nowadays. But for those who just want to share their photos thats a great way thats often overlooked.

I own a framework and the dongles are the only thing I would change. I think it would better if the whole side is replaceable with preconfigured IO. As its right now its alot of space wasted. I think the MNT Reform does it like that.

Oh wow I never heard of PikaOS but of seems great, even though you had some difficulties. I love Debian and have it on my Server, Laptop and now also on my older Gaming (Nvidia) PC.

I feel like Debian really only needs a couple of (hardware specific) tweaks to be a great out of the box experience and it seems PikaOS tries to do that. I don’t like that most other desktop first distros opt into using Ubuntu as their bases. But that is only because I’m willing to invest some time to fix stuff and understand how my PC works.

Its so stupid especially as Minecraft (not sure about cod), the example they have given, provides community server as a built in feature. Channels on PeerTube are already Communities on here so there is no need to tag something for videos to show up as long as somebody subscribes to the channel. If you search for a specific video on your instance it should show up with comments from across the Fediverse. (e.g.: https://makertube.net/videos/watch/b82221ac-53b2-4b72-94f7-4d1ee436cce1) However you can still crosspost the videos in more specific Communites. Comments are then aggregated from different Posts on Piefed and I think Lemmy 1.0

I guess there is just nobody on your instance (piefed.zip) subscribed to the channel which is why it does not federate. On piefed.social there is the latest one available (9 days ago) as i myself am subscribed.

Gen Z here, also do not have any subscriptions except for a library card which is only 12 € a year (and also my server and domains and rent and electricity and internet). There are just so many movies and games to be watched and played I don’t see myself running empty anytime soon. Often times I visit there without a specific thing to rent and go out with 5 movies to watch, they actually curate the shelf fairly well and have more interesting/new things out for display. For newer releases I do go to the movies but my library does get a copy once there is a physical copy you just have to wait a bit until its your turn.
