I’ve never once chosen one hotel over another because I saw pictures and said “Oh look, this one has a doorless shower! It looks so modern and spacious.”
Wherever I wander I wonder whether I’ll ever find a place to call home…

You can make plastics out of corn and soybean oil

Damn, I flew with them once well over a decade ago. I had a good impression of them at the time, but I guess that was before capitalism reached its “late-stage”.
That sucks, man…

Tell us what airline so we know which to avoid.
That sounds fucking atrocious. Flying can already be stressful, and I usually just try to relax and chill for the whole flight. It’s one thing if a nearby passenger is being annoying. It can make a five hour flight seem like an eternity. Even worse for longer flights.
But to be forced by the airline to watch ads on the screen? Fuck that. I always turn my screen off. I don’t want that in my face.

No I know AI companies are doing that, I just don’t think they would be making gifs about it.
But there’s a Tom Hanks movie that came out a few years ago where in the beginning of the movie he lives in a bunker because the UV index outside is so high the sunlight is basically radioactive, and he’s building a robot and he uses a machine to chop the spines off of books to feed them into a scanner to train the robot brain.
That all takes place in the very beginning and then he leaves the bunker with the robot and some shit happens. But that’s what I thought this gif was from.

Is this gif from that tom hanks movie?

Can you recommend some trustworthy hardware?
I know gl.inet is probably best for routers, but are any of the mainstream brands more trustworthy than others? TP-Link, Ubiquiti, etc.? I recently got a Zyxel, are those okay?

He says as he continues to launch surveillance drones without asking anybody if they’re okay with that…

At this point it should be claimed by the state and turned into a public utility…

Holy shit. I mean minus points for storing all your company’s data in OneDrive and just kinda trusting Microsoft, but also, holy shit is that fucked up on Microsoft’s part. Literally telling people “you’re good till your subscription ends” and then surprising them with “jk, we deleted all your data.”
And then this asinine corpo-speak response:
Microsoft wrote that the original offers were “retired to streamline our grant offerings and simplify our grant portfolio,” adding, “We strongly advised our nonprofit customers and partners to transition to a different Microsoft 365 offer for nonprofits before their renewal date to avoid disruption and data loss.”
No they fucking didn’t!

That is so fucked up.

I actually have a marble track that automatically syncs with my hard drive to back up all my data in a series of binary pits that either do or don’t contain a marble
What? No, I’ve known hypoglycemics without personally having it myself. Why do you ask?

That doesn’t matter as long as it doesn’t happen in this quarter.

From my understanding, which is very limited, race conditions are more an issue with concurrent programming. Parallel computing uses separate processor cores for each task so there’s less reliance on stack machines. But I guess each core still shares the memory, so maybe it still happens. Like I said, my understanding is limited. Just use rust.

Yeah, that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen…

Go ahead, I really don’t care. It’s not disinformation, you just don’t believe that non-diabetic hypoglycemics exist.
Also, telling hypoglycemics that they don’t need complex carbs throughout the day and can rely on simple sugars during emergencies, which is what you’re doing, is harmful.
In order to zoom in all the way and search for specific locations, you need to download the map for the region you’ll be in because since it’s all stored locally on your device it doesn’t download the whole world by default, that would be enormous.
Also the data is crowdsourced so if a spot you need isn’t on there, feel free to add it yourself and upload it to OSM
